Nobel Prize in Literature

Mary :

Did you know over 100 Nobel Prizes in literature have been awarded up until now, but only 14 of them are women?

Ken :

❶Really? So few? Where were most literature winners from?

Mary :

Fourteen of the winners are French, another fourteen are German, and 29 are from various English-speaking countries. I read novels published in the English-speaking countries. Kazuo Ishiguro is my favorite novelist.

Ken :

Oh, I love his novel titled Never Let Me Go. It’s really great, but I think Japanese novels are really good, too. Judging from their quality, they should attract more attention!

Mary :
