Nobel Prize in Literature

Mary :

Did you know over 100 Nobel Prizes in literature have been awarded up until now, but only 14 of them are women?//

Ken :

❶Really?// So few?// Where were most literature winners from?//

Mary :

Fourteen of the winners are French, another fourteen are German, and 29 are from various English-speaking countries.// I read novels published in the English-speaking countries.// Kazuo Ishiguro is my favorite novelist.//

Ken :

Oh, I love his novel titled Never Let Me Go.// It’s really great, but I think Japanese novels are really good, too.// Judging from their quality, they should attract more attention!//

Mary :
