Emojis are often used/in text messages/around the world. They add emotions to the text/and create a friendly atmosphere. However,/some people feel/that basic emojis are not enough. Maori people,/the indigenous people of New Zealand,/felt that way.
Maori people created/their own set of emojis /to express their culture. It is called Emotiki. Look at the pictures below. The green emoji face/is sticking out its tongue. The Maori do this/in their famous war cry,/haka . In the other emoji,/two people are putting their noses together. The Maori greet each other/in this way.
Maori people are satisfied/with the new emojis. They can express their feelings/in their traditional ways. They also hope/that other people will be interested/in the Maori language and culture.
