We did research on how the population of Aozora City has changed over the past several decades. In 1980, the population was a little more than 60,000, and it went below 60,000 in 1990. Then the Aozora City government started to invite new businesses to our city. The population still gradually decreased from 1990 to 2000. But it jumped to about 65,000 in 2010. As you know, in 2003, Blue Sky University opened in the east coast area, and many people moved to our city. While the population in the neighboring cities has continued to decrease, our city’s population has successfully increased. The population in 2020 was about 66,000 and is still increasing.
