Traveling to Cappadocia
Do you know that there are still cave dwellers in the world? Some of them live in a World Heritage Site: Cappadocia! Read the description, choose a hotel, and plan a trip to Cappadocia with a friend.
Cappadocia, Central Anatolia,Turkey
Cappadocia is famous for its moon-like landscape, underground cities, cave churches, and houses carved into the rock.
In ancient times, volcanoes erupted in the region. Later, wind and rain eroded the lava, leaving strange, mushroom-shaped formations called “fairy chimneys.” From prehistoric times, humans carved shelters into these chimneys.
The Cappadocia Kingdom was established in 332 B.C. During the Roman era, the area erved as a shelter for early Christians. There are also several underground cities used by early Christians as hideouts in Cappadocia.
The combination of landscape and architecture makes Cappadocia one of the most interesting and beautiful places in the world. Cappadocia today is a popular tourist site. There are many hotels, the most interesting of which are built in caves.
Cappadocia is accessible by road, rail, and air. There are daily nonstop flights from Istanbul. The station at Kayseri is accessible by train from almost any city in Turkey. Buses are also available. It takes 12 hours from Istanbul and five hours from Ankara by bus.

The location was fantastic and the breakfasts were very good. The staff members were friendly. We stayed in winter, so it was great to have a fireplace in the room.

The hotel was amazing―set right in the spectacular Cappadocia landscape. The hotel’s layout was nice, featuring multiple small terraces where you could enjoy the views. The room was nicely decorated and cozy (especially for a cave!), and the breakfast was good.
