Ever since 1957, we have launched spacecraft and artificial satellites into outer space.
Such space development has subsequently led to the problem of space debris, human-made objects in the earth’s orbit that no longer work.
At present there are approximately 23,000 pieces of debris larger than a softball and half a million pieces of marble-size debris orbiting Earth, which travel at speeds up to 17,500 miles an hour.
They can potentially damage all space vehicles, including the International Space Station and other manned spacecraft.
It is now necessary for us to clean up space debris.
