How Can We Preserve Our Traditional Culture?
Japan is rich in traditional culture, which has been passed down from generation to generation for hundreds of years. Take, for example, Kabuki, Noh, and Bunraku. According to one survey, less than 30% of the population has seen these kinds of arts performed on the stage. The number of people who have seen Noh is about half as large as those who have seen Kabuki. If many people have no experience of these traditional performing arts, they might disappear someday.
In order to preserve traditional culture, it is important to learn about it. I believe that if we have enough opportunities to experience traditional culture at school and in the community, our understanding and interest will deepen, and I am sure that people will become more aware of the need to preserve our cultural traditions.
