Getting back to running after the accident was a goal that was very important to me.
I didn’t want to be beaten by the simple fact that I’d lost an arm and a leg.
That made me decide to run the London Marathon.
I also knew that I wanted to be able to run in order to draw the attention of the world to anti-personnel landmines.
Everybody has the capacity to go one step beyond the point at which they feel they can go no further. It is only when you try that you can see the results. I want to keep on running until every landmine has been removed from the earth. I’m sure that day will come.
