One of the SDGs is “Responsible Consumption and Production,” but how can we achieve this goal?
Here’s an example of one person who is trying to make a big difference.
In 1985, when Iwamoto Michihiko was a university student, he saw a movie called Back to the Future and became interested in a car called a DeLorean. In the movie, the fuel for one DeLorean was garbage. He thought that in the future, cars would be powered by garbage.
After graduating, Iwamoto worked at a company for several years. Eventually, he quit and started a business to turn garbage into something valuable. He created recycled fuel from old clothes and made a DeLorean run on it in 2015. The world of the movie had become closer to reality.
What kind of future do you imagine for yourselves?
