　　I suggest that Japan make use of tidal energy to produce electricity.//
　　First, Japan is an island nation with plenty of rivers and bays, so there are lots of places where we can take advantage of the tide.// Second, tidal power is environmentally safe and reliable. // The tides are predictable and will never disappear.//

　私は、日本が潮ちょう汐せきエネルギーを利用して発電することを提案します。
　まず、日本はたくさんの川や湾がある島国なので、潮の干満を利用できる場所がたくさんあります。次に、潮力は環境的に安全で信頼できます。潮の干満は予測可能で、なくなってしまうこともありません。

　　I suggest that Japan use more wind power for two reasons.//
　　First, there are many unpopulated areas in Japan that are perfect for building wind turbines.// For example, we can use mountainous areas and shallow beaches.// Second, wind power generation doesn’t consume any fossil fuels or produce any waste.//

　私は二つの理由から、日本がもっと風力発電を使用することを提案します。
　まず、日本には、風車を建設するのに最適な無人の地域がたくさんあります。例えば、山間部や遠浅の海岸が利用できます。次に、風力発電はどんな化石燃料も消費せず、どんな廃棄物も排出しないのです。

　　I suggest that Japan use more geothermal energy for two reasons.//
　　First, our country is on the so-called “ring of fire,” which means there are many volcanos.// We are already using geothermal energy for hot spring resorts.// We can use the same power to generate electricity.// Second, geothermal power is very stable, and it will never run out.//

　私は二つの理由から、日本がもっと地熱エネルギーを使用することを提案します。
　まず、私たちの国はいわゆる「火の輪」（環太平洋火山帯）の上に位置していて、たくさんの火山があります。私たちは、すでに温泉地で地熱エネルギーを利用しています。発電するのに同じ力を使うことができます。次に、地熱の力はとても安定していて、枯渇することはないでしょう。

　　I suggest that Japan invest in biomass energy, which is energy generated using organic matter.//
　　First, waste from forestry-related businesses can be used to generate heat and electricity.// Second, biomass fuels are carbon neutral.// They only release the same amount of carbon dioxide into the air that the plants absorbed during their lifetime.//

　私は、日本がバイオマスエネルギーに投資することを提案します。バイオマスエネルギーとは、有機物を利用することによって生み出されるエネルギーです。
　まず、林業関連の事業からの廃棄物を利用して熱や電気を生み出すことができます。次に、バイオマス燃料は炭素中立（カーボンニュートラル）です。植物が一生の間に吸収したのと同じ分量の二酸化炭素を大気中に放出するだけなのです。
