Ken :

How do you feel about global warming, Mary?

Mary :

I think it is one of our most serious environmental problems. The Arctic has lost half of its ice in the last forty years. This has made it difficult for polar bears to survive, for example.

Ken :

I agree. We need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Can you suggest how we can do that?

Mary :

Well, first of all, we should plant lots of trees to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Ken :

That sounds like a good suggestion.
