Musicians of the Metro

In Paris,/you can often hear high-quality music/in public places. For example,/it is performed in metro stations/where busy passengers come and go.
The high-quality music/is made possible by the project/“Musicians of the Metro.” Since 1997,/the metro company has held auditions. Twice a year,/the metro staff and citizens/listen to the auditions/and choose about 300 musicians/out of 1,000. The winners can play/in metro stations or on trains/for half a year. One goal of the project/is to make passengers’ travel/more enjoyable. Another is to give chances/to amateur musicians.
The metro company even holds concerts/for the musicians. Many of them have become professionals/so far. The project enriches the music culture/of Paris.
